Swarovski lights up Megeve Christmas tree

Luxury crystal maker Swarovski celebrated the opening of the winter season in Megeve this past weekend with the tree lighting ceremony in the Place des Alpes, Megeve’s famous central square. With the gorgeous spokesmodel Adriana Karembeu as the honorary guest of the evening, the star studded event took place under a blanket of fresh snow, as conditions verge on perfection for the start to ski season 2010/2011.

Megeve’s Swavroski Christmas tree is decked out with more than 3000 crystals, and measures 15 meters high. It is a must-see feature of Megeve’s winter wonderland. On display now until the middle of March 2011.

One of the most sought after gastronomic events in France, ‘Salon du Chocolat’ celebrates its 16th year with over 400 participants including exhibitors, chocolatiers and cocoa producers.
Fashion designers collaborate with chocolatiers and showcase an alluring variety of chocolicious dresses, shoes, bags and other accessories. Models dressed up in costumes made from real chocolate look extremely scrumptious.
The annual international trade fair that ends on November 1, 2010 features a delectable selection of chocolates from all over the world. World Travel Awards European Gala in Turkey

The European ceremony of the prestigious World Travel Awards took place at the Rixos Premium Belek, Antalya, Turkey on Friday, 1st October. Described as the ‘Oscars’ of the international travel and tourism industry by the Wall Street Journal, World Travel Awards celebrated seventeen years of quality and preeminent customer service.
Truly a night of mixed emotions, the European Gala Night was attended by leading personalities from the tourism industry. Among the winners were Turkish Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Mardan Palace, Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort & Spa, Rixos Sungate, Turkish Culture & Tourism Office, Europcar, P&O Ferries and easyJet.
While Istanbul was crowned Europe’s Leading Destination, Lisbon was named Europe’s Leading City Break Destination and ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ became Europe’s Leading Marketing Campaign. All the winners of the regional ceremony will now fight for the World Travel Awards 2010 scheduled to be held in London just before World Travel Market that takes place on Sunday, 7th November.
The event was accented by the globally renowned ‘Fire of Anatolia’ dance act featuring 45 stunning dancers swirling to conventional folk music. A scintillating performance by the Magic Drifters added to the excitement of this much awaited event.

Travel Channel HD confirms launch in Europe

UK based Travel Channel recently confirmed its plans to launch a high definition version in Europe starting from Czech Republic on 15th of November. Operated by UK based Travel Channel International Limited (TCI), Travel Channel is an infotainment channel dedicated to travel across the globe.

‘Fashion’s Night Out’ is an initiative by Vogue to allow its readers and fashion buffs a truly unique and gratifying shopping experience.
